Feel the shame - &Market anyway

*A Meta Lesson for therapists

the thing about Trump -

(bet you didn't think I was gonna start there)

He. Has. NO. Shame.

He unabashedly says things like this -

"I will make America great again!"

And this -

"I'm the most successful person ever to run for president - by far"

And THIS -

"We will have so much winning that, if I get elected, you may get bored with winning!"

Okay, I'm sorry about all that. But here's the point:

When it comes to talking about the ways therapy can change lives, we so often let our shame and anxiety keep us from reaching those who need our help.

Meanwhile, some people (ahem) shamelessly plug ideas that actually hurt people. If we aren't speaking up, bullshit notions become the only ideas in the room.

So today, I say - enough's enough!

It's time for therapists to feel the shame - and do it anyway.

It's time for us to (I can't believe I'm about to say this) follow Trump's example and speak up about what we have to offer.

All kinds of anxieties come up when we think about sharing our dreams:

"What if I fail?"

"What if people judge me?"

"What if I sound narcissistic?!"

"I don't really have anything important to say!"

"Who am *I* to speak up?!"

These anxieties are totally insidious and they

Meanwhile the individuals who are out there and need our help continue to suffer in silence.

I want to break this cycle - and I know you do, too!

But it's scary. And there's all those I'm-gonna-fuck-up-and-everyone-(*coughmydad")-will-say-"I-told-you-so" and I just can't take it!

But we CAN take it.

So I'm going to go first - gulp.

I have a dream.

I want to help you create an amaaAAAAazing private practice, a practice that lets you help the people you are passionate about serving AND - make a great income.

My goal: to double the size of my email list by the end of September.

(There. I said it.)

Though I’m nervous to put it out there - to hundreds of people - I know that my site HeyTiffany.Com really helps people.

In fact, I often get emails like THIS:

“One of the primary things you do all the time is make me feel more and more comfortable every minute being in my own skin, being who I am and doing things the way I want to do them.”

Holy SHIT!

So even though I’m terrified about all of the therapists who may judge or criticize or just hit "delete" - the possibility that I could reach even one person, ONE, who could have her life changed by my message makes it all worth it.

If this resonates with you, I encourage you to join me.

What are you ashamed to tell people you want for your practice?

Who are you afraid to contact and let them know about your services?

If you felt the shame and did it anyway, how would your life different be one year from now?

I dare you to search deep inside your heart and notice the dream you have - the wish you dare not speak aloud.

I’m challenging you to feel the shame - and do it anyway.

Sign up today, and I'll walk you through a super easy 5-day email series where I'll give you one mantra to tell yourself as you take one step - just one - each day towards your secret dream. I'll be whispering it to myself. You'll be whispering it to yourself and, by the end of September, 500 new subscribers to HeyTiffany will be whispering it along with us.

Yes, I'm really asking you - YOU - to sign up below.

Type in your name.

Type in your email.

Magic will happen.

Together we’ll all fucking commit to overcoming our shame so we can create something bigger than ourselves.

You know exactly what I'm talking about. You know you let fear hold you back from boldly marketing your practice. You know your shame about the "what-ifs" keeps you from reaching those who need your help.

Cut that shit out.

If I can do it, you can do it.

Can I get an "Amen!!"*

*And by "Amen" I mean signing up. Don't do me like that.
